Our Vision We nurture creativity, curiosity, and connections in young children across San Francisco. SFCAC is committed to creating an Anti-Racist framework to inform our work with culturally-relevant practices. Through building relationships of trust and accountability with our community partners and families, we work towards justice and collective liberation. We believe that through inclusiveness and allyship, artmaking with young people can affect social change.

About This Cause

Established in 1978, The San Francisco Children’s Art Center (SFCAC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, child-centered community art organization that values the importance of process-oriented art instruction. Our methodology uses an inquiry-based approach to art materials and techniques that guides young people in the process of creating and nurtures them to trust their own creative impulses. We believe that through process-oriented artmaking, children develop language to share their stories, learn to solve challenges, connect authentically with others, and more fully realize their human potential. Annually, SFCAC serves 700 San Francisco children ages 2-10 years old with artist residencies in 30 preschool and elementary school classrooms, along with classes, workshops, and camps at our art studio designed especially for children in San Francisco's Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture.
