Mission Statement

The Sacramento LGBT Community Center's mission is to create a region where LGBTQ people thrive. We support the health and wellness of the most marginalized, advocate for equality and justice, and work to build a culturally rich LGBTQ community.

About This Cause

We envision an end to youth homelessness, equitable medical care and employment opportunities for transgender people, no new HIV infections, ongoing coordination amongst all LGBTQ-serving organizations, affirming housing, long term care, and social activities for LGBTQ older adults, Sacramento Pride as the largest celebration of diversity in the region, and civic institutions where LGBTQ people are equitable represented and engaged. Sacramento Pride March & Festival is our largest community engagement event of the year, gathering more than 20,000 people throughout the weekend making it the largest and most inclusive celebration of diversity, advocacy, LGBTQ+ culture, and community building in Sacramento Region. Creating a region where LGBTQ+ people thrive depends on our whole community. Volunteers collaborate with The Sacramento LGBT Community Center to empower the most marginalized, advocate for equality and justice with community leaders, and innovate how we address community needs. The legacy of The Center is built on the skills and talents of decades of past volunteers – volunteering your time today ensures your chance to shape and make our future.
