Mission Statement
Inquiring Systems, Inc. (ISI), is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit corporation founded in 1978. Our overall charitable purpose is “improving the human condition” by providing “ethical and sustainable ecosystem management services”. We offer fiscal sponsorship and business management services to NGO’s, nonprofit organizations, ethically-directed business entities, local communities, government agencies and countries throughout the world.
About This Cause
Inquiring Systems, Inc. (ISI), 501(c) (3), is committed to the ethical implementation of constructive social change. We use an Inquiring Systems Approach to problem-solving and decision-making. Our overarching objective is to translate good intentions into practical, effective and worthwhile outcomes. Integrated into our comprehensive business management services are the most appropriate and compatible training and technical assistance available today. Our goal for the projects, people and communities, and for the ecosystems with which we are involved is long-term economic viability, self-sufficiency and sustainability. In addition to fiscal sponsorship, ISI creates, develops and manages our own projects, and we provide comprehensive ethically based consulting services. Here are some of our accomplishments: • Project management, business management, fiscal sponsorship services, and training / technical assistance services to 3,650+ organizations, primarily nonprofits and NGOs, along with some value-driven, socially responsible for-profit entities. • Fiscal management, business development and business recovery assistance to 280+ companies throughout the United States and in 32 countries. • $145+ million in acquisition of capital for our projects/clients through grants, contributions, private investments, loans, joint ventures and tax-exempt bond financing. • Negotiated and obtained over $230 million in service contracts with industry and government agencies. • Workshop and seminar training for over 26,000 senior executives, project managers and board members in 35 states and in Canada. • ISI does not advertise, market or solicit clients. For over 36+ years every ISI client has been a direct word of mouth referral. ISI is focused on the “Ethical Implementation of Constructive Social Change” and specializes in the following areas of emphasis: • Ethically-directed business planning, development and management • Financial planning and management • Market planning and management • Capital acquisition • Debt management • Organizational planning and development • Personnel policy planning • Contract negotiation and agreements • Program planning and management • Business recovery, restoration and viability • Conflict mediation and resolution • Inquiring Systems Approach to problem-solving and decision-making • Ecosystems restoration and recovery to enhance the health, viability and sustainability thereby. ISI operates differently than almost all other nonprofit organizations in that we drive responsibility and authority down into the organizational ecosystems with which we are engaged; and, we draw accountability back up through the system. ISI has a small highly competent Board of Directors and ensures functional accountability for each of ISI’s project/clients by requiring them to each have a well-functioning and fully engaged policy-making Advisory Board (that is, their own Board of Directors), who are responsible for the oversight, control and policy-making aspects of their respective project. ISI functions primarily as a resource for information and guidance, and as a guarantor for: • The efficacy of the project. • Adherence to mutually agreed to ethical values and principles. • Becoming an economically viable, sustainable ecosystem; able to achieve your mission and charitable purposes while acting in the best interests of your clients. • The corporate shield of protection for the nonprofit, liability insurance coverage ($1 million per occurrence, $2 million aggregate), and the 501(c)3 status necessary to receive contributions and grants that are fully tax-deductible.
