About This Cause
The mission of the Friends of the Oakland Public Library is to advance the role of the Oakland Public Library (CA) as a vital community resource and as an institution critical to the culture, education, and welfare of our diverse community. We raise funds through our quality used book store staffed by 50 dedicated volunteers and through our membership program in which over 900 individuals provide annual support through membership dues and donations. Each year, FOPL makes grants to the Oakland Public Library for programs and projects that enhance library services to all. A list of recent grants is available at https://www.fopl.org/impact.
