About This Cause
Aster Aging, Inc. (former name: East Valley Adult Resources) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been dedicated to serving our community since 1979. Our mission is to empower and support East Valley older adults and their families to remain independent and engaged in our communities. Our vision is to be a leader in providing direct services and mobilizing resources that support the changing needs of our older adult population. Aster provides a full continuum of programs and services aimed at independence with dignity as older adults navigate the sometimes challenging journey of aging. Aster impacts thousands of older and disabled adults and their families in the East Valley each year through our core programs: Center-Based Services (congregate meals and cafes, health and wellness support, education programs, and social activities at two senior centers), Meals on Wheels (delivery of nutritious meals combined with daily wellness checks), In-Home Support (assistance to homebound seniors including companionship, respite, assisted transportation, personal care, housekeeping, and pet support through caring volunteers and certified home care aides), Outreach & Social Services (assistance in navigating and accessing needed health care, social services, benefits, food, and other resources), and Collaborative Programs (coordination of activities for senior housing communities and food services for neighboring senior centers). Our overarching intended outcomes for older adult participants in all programs are to maintain independence, preserve dignity, and enhance quality of life.
