Mission Statement
Legal Aid at Work delivers on the promise of justice for low-income people. We provide free direct services to thousands of people each year through our clinics and helplines. We also offer extensive legal information for free online and in trainings, we litigate individual and class actions, and we advocate for new policies and laws.
About This Cause
Legal Aid at Work advances justice and economic opportunity using four main strategies: We provide free services across California through our clinics and helplines We offer extensive practical legal information concerning civil and employment rights in trainings and online We advocate for policies at the local, state, and national levels that strengthen the rights of low-income people We enforce civil and employment rights by litigating in state and federal court We help low-income people facing discrimination and other unlawful practices. Many live far from any free legal service provider. Our clients include: Undocumented immigrants, people of color, limited-English speakers, domestic violence survivors, caregivers, girls seeking equal athletic opportunities, LGBT individuals, pregnant women, new parents, working families, people with disabilities, military veterans, and people seeking unpaid wages or help with unemployment insurance claims.
