About This Cause
Nurturing Academic Excellence and Community Engagement Cholla Academy Westland School Brighton, also known as Brighton Charter, was founded by a group of mothers who were disenfranchised with what the traditional public school system offered their children. Their vision was to create a nurturing, well-rounded, and academically-challenging learning environment where students are respected, and parents are valued as integral parts of the educational process. Supporting Every Student All students at Brighton School receive the benefits of the National Free Lunch Program, highlighting our commitment to ensuring every child has access to nutritious meals, which is vital for their overall well-being and academic success. Our Mission At Brighton School, we are dedicated to instilling in our students the knowledge and skills necessary to become valued and productive members of society. As a Title I school, we offer comprehensive programs aimed at providing academic and enrichment opportunities for students. A key component of our mission is to involve parents and families in the educational journey, enhancing student achievement through active engagement. What is Title I? Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), provides financial assistance to schools to support educationally at-risk students. The primary goal of Title I is to deliver additional instructional services and activities to students who are identified as struggling or at risk of not meeting the state's challenging performance standards in reading and mathematics. Title I Programs at Brighton Our Title I initiatives include: Reading and Math Interventionists: Providing specialized support to help students improve their literacy and numeracy skills. Additional Teachers and Para Educators: Enhancing classroom instruction and individualized attention. Professional Development Opportunities for Staff: Ensuring our educators are equipped with the latest teaching strategies and best practices. Extra Teaching Time: Offering tutorials and summer school programs to give students the skills they need to succeed.
