Mission Statement
The Children’s Foundation of Las Vegas (CFLV), formerly known as the CASA Foundation (1983-2022), is committed to supporting youth in foster care in Clark County, Nevada. Our mission is to provide tutoring and various opportunities to help these youth navigate the foster system and successfully transition into independent living.
About This Cause
The Children's Foundation of Las Vegas (CFLV), formerly known as the CASA Foundation of Las Vegas (1983-2022), has been dedicated to making a significant impact in the lives of youth in foster care in Clark County, Nevada, since its establishment in June 1983. Our mission is to support these vulnerable children through comprehensive services that enhance their educational opportunities and aid their transition to independent living. CFLV is committed to providing essential support to foster youth, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and opportunities to succeed academically and transition smoothly into adulthood. We believe in empowering these young individuals to achieve their full potential despite the challenges they face in the foster care system. Charitable Services: Tutoring Programs: We offer personalized tutoring services at no cost to foster youth, helping them achieve academic proficiency and success. Our tutors work one-on-one with students to address educational gaps and foster a love for learning. Educational Support: CFLV provides a range of educational resources, including school supplies, books, and scholarships, to support foster children in their academic endeavors. We strive to create an environment where learning is accessible and enjoyable. Life Skills Development: Our programs extend beyond academic support to include life skills training. We prepare foster youth for independent living by teaching essential skills such as financial literacy, time management, and career readiness. Transition Assistance: We offer guidance and resources to help foster youth transition to adulthood, whether they are pursuing higher education or entering the workforce. Our support includes assistance with college applications, vocational training, and securing scholarships. Community Impact: CFLV's work is made possible through the generous contributions of our donors, grants, community partners, sponsors, and other resources. We collaborate with local organizations and stakeholders to maximize our impact and ensure that foster youth in Southern Nevada receive the comprehensive support they need.
