Our goals are to expand the network of design professionals in the Bay Area, encourage innovation and action in all facets of design and raise the stature of the chapter, thereby raising the stature of design and designing We set out to achieve our goals through various initiatives: Our chapter’s education and student outreach initiatives are committed to offering college level graphic design students a variety of opportunities to supplement their education such as Portfolio Days, Student Mixers, and Scholarships. AIGA SF’s Women in Leadership and Design (WILD) initiative aims for gender parity in design. The purpose of WILD Programming, education, meetups and workshops is to empower women and genderqueer persons at every stage on their path to leadership. AIGA San Francisco's social impact initiatives promote and supports design for social good through networking and collaboration with like-minded individuals and organizations. We foster close working relationships between designers and the non-profit community. And we provide a forum for socially responsible design through cause/affect. A biennial, international design competition, cause/affect celebrates the work of designers and organizations who set out to positively impact our society. Through the efforts of dedicated volunteers, AIGA SF presents over 75 events and programs to the design community each ear. These include studio tours, lectures, professional development opportunities, networking evenings, and fundraisers. Please visit www.aigasf.org/initiatives to learn more!
