Mission Statement
Our mission is to build on a foundation of loving families united with LGBTQ people and allies who support one another, and to educate ourselves and our communities to speak up as advocates until all hearts and minds respect, value and affirm LGBTQ people.
About This Cause
For over 45 years, PFLAG has been saving lives, strengthening families and changing hearts, minds and laws. We provide support to families and allies who are in need, through peer-to-peer meetings, online outreach and telephone helpline. Our family and ally voice is integral to advancing equality. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that provides the opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. Many LGBTQ+ individuals or their families and friends don't know where to turn when they need understanding and information. They come to PFLAG support meetings to find it. Our goal is to strengthen our role as advocates for the LGBTQ+ community by expanding our network of LGBTQ+-friendly partners and outreach and continuing to make educational materials available free of charge.
