Mission Statement
Ride Connection provides free, customer-focused, safe, reliable transportation options for older adults, people with disabilities, and low income individuals in the Portland metro area of Oregon. Ride Connection's mission is to link accessible, responsive transportation alternatives with individual and community needs. Ride Connection links other nonprofits, human services agencies, and individuals into the complete transportation system in order to best meet their specific needs.
About This Cause
Since 1988 when Ride Connection began filling the gaps of transportation needs in our communities, it has grown to be the essential core for transportation services in the Portland metro area. Ride Connection is a national leader in transportation services, with exemplary practices in service delivery, scheduling and reporting technology, and collaboration with community partners. Volunteers are essential to our organization and contribute thousands of hours each year to help support our mission. Through our fundraising efforts, we look to the future to ensure that we continue to thrive and fulfill our commitment to meet the increasing transportation needs of our communities. We have relied heavily on government funding to fulfill our mission for over 35 years, but funding has not grown parallel to the needs of the people we serve. We need your support to ensure the healthy future of Ride Connection with the ability to provide services for generations to come. Charitable contributions help support door-to-door transportation, services for rural communities, one-on-one transit training, fare assistance and more.
