Mission Statement

The mission of PRC is to help people affected by HIV/AIDS, substance use, or mental health issues better realize opportunities by providing integrated legal, social, and health services that address the broad range of social risk factors that impact wellness and limit potential.

About This Cause

PRC is a $33M human services agency bringing the resources of three established San Francisco nonprofits—AIDS Emergency Fund, Baker Places, and Positive Resource Center—into a new alignment to change the landscape of opportunity for San Francisco’s most at-risk community members. We believe that everyone deserves an advocate and an opportunity, and PRC is merging expertise and building strategic partnerships that put our values into action every day. Bridging social and behavioral health interventions, PRC uproots overlapping cycles of illness, poverty, and decline. We help more than 5,000 people each year – individuals affected by HIV/AIDS, substance use, or mental health issues – get healthy, build income, and stay housed. Our uniquely integrated continuum of care spans Crisis Services and Emergency Financial Assistance, Legal Advocacy, 30-60-90 day Residential Treatment, Supportive Housing, and Workforce Development, so we can address the broad range of social risk factors that act together to limit wellness. At PRC, we move people forward.
