MEDFORD, Oregon, 97501-3016 United States

Mission Statement

To meet the needs of children and families in our community by providing a community-based, child-focused center that facilitates a compassionate, multidisciplinary approach to the prevention, treatment, identification, investigation, and prosecution of child abuse.

About This Cause

We provide intervention and treatment services for young victims of child abuse and neglect to youth from birth through age 18. Our services include forensic interviews with trained interviewers; specialized medical exams and referrals to other medical professionals for follow-up and ongoing care; mental health assessments; therapy and specialized therapy groups; parent support groups; and advocacy in the community for our clients and their families to receive wraparound services as they heal from the trauma of abuse. We convene the weekly Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for Jackson County, which is comprised of 22 partner agencies including the District Attorney’s Office, law enforcement, DHS Child Welfare, Jackson County Mental Health, CASA, and others working with child abuse cases. All reports of child abuse are staffed at these meetings to ensure that professionals working across disciplines share information about the child and family, resulting in better care and service provision. We have implemented a child sexual abuse prevention program that teaches adult to recognize and respond to child sexual abuse. We are the Regional Service Provider for Jackson, Josephine, and Curry Counties through the Department of Justice, providing training and consultation to advocacy centers and child abuse professionals in all three counties.
