Mission Statement

Alzheimer's Services of the East Bay, Inc. (ASEB) is a non-profit dementia specific adult day healthcare program that operates in Alameda County. ASEB's purpose is to maintain and strenthen the family structure and by providing respite for both the stay-at-home and working caregiver. At ASEB we value the individual's dignity and we support the right to remain at home and in the community.

About This Cause

Alzheimer's Services of the East Bay, Inc. (ASEB) is a community based adult service certified by the California Department of Health and Human Services. ASEB serves individuals living with dementia and their caregivers and offers a comprehensive range of services at an Adult Day Health Care center in Berkeley. Participants engage in activities such as reading, singing, creative arts, physical and occupational therapy, walks. and gardening and receive a nutritious lunch each day. In addition to providing respite care, early stage programming, support groups, and education/training are available for the caregivers. ASEB has on staff registered nurses, physical and occupation therapists, licensed social worker, registered dietician and van drivers specifically trained in communicating with persons with dementia. All staff are dedicated to providing person centered care that places value on the individual who still lives inside a person living with dementia/memory loss.
