Mission Statement

Episcopal Community Services of San Francisco helps homeless and very low-income people every day and every night obtain the housing, jobs, shelter and essential services that each person needs to prevent and end homelessness.

About This Cause

We assist over 13,000 homeless and low-income people annually; to each we give a hand up, not a hand-out. During the COVID-19 pandemic, ECS became a key partner with the City and County of San Francisco in securing Project Homekey and Shelter-in-Place housing for those experiencing homelessness, key programs that both helped provide housing and contain the spread of the virus. Proof that our services work: In our supportive housing, over 97% of formerly homeless tenants retain housing. Between 70-75% of graduates of ECS workforce development programs secure employment on or before graduation. We are trusted as San Francisco’s largest provider of emergency shelter and shelter behavioral health services. For almost 40 years, we have worked to enable those who are homeless or at risk regain their stability and dignity. Please join us in this life-saving effort.
