Mission Statement
H.E.A.R.'s mission is the prevention of hearing loss and tinnitus among musicians and music fans (especially teens) through education awareness, grassroots outreach and advocacy.
About This Cause
H.E.A.R.® HEARNET® - Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers is a nonprofit org Est. 1988 with support of Pete Townshend of the Who, The Les Paul Foundation, The Bill Graham Foundation and many other valuable volunteers and supporters. H.E.A.R. is dedicated to the prevention of hearing loss and tinnitus among students, musicians, DJs, orchestras, sound arts/audio professionals, other music entertainment industry professionals and all music fans especially teens and young adults. H.E.A.R. is dedicated to raising awareness of the real dangers of repeated exposure to excessive noise levels from music which can lead to permanent, and sometimes debilitating, hearing loss and tinnitus. Damage from loud sound can occur from playing music, attending concerts, dance clubs, raves, using stereo earbuds, playing amplified systems too loudly, or other noisy activities. We're here for musicians, DJs, sound engineers, orchestra players, other music professionals, music fans (especially teens) and anyone needing help with their hearing.
