Mission Statement
A non-profit organization that promotes a sister city relationship between Seattle, WA, United States of America and Gdynia, Poland.
About This Cause
The port cities of Seattle and Gdynia have much in common. These commonalities prompted the formation of the Seattle-Gdynia Sister City Association (SGSCA), one of Seattle's twenty-one sister cities. SGSCA is a 501(c)(3) organization, staffed entirely by volunteers who are committed to the mission of sharing and promoting charitable, cultural, educational, trade and business exchanges between the two cities. The SGSCA accomplishes this goal with various programs including assisting with the production of the Seattle Polish Film Festival (SPFF) and establishing and sucesfully running Gdynia Business Week (based on the very popular Washington Business Week program). The purpose of the SPFF is to share Polish history, culture, and cinematic art with the Seattle community. The goals of the SPFF include increasing the awareness of Polish cinema in the Northwest, to offer easy and attractive access to Polish culture, and to offer a Polish film festival experience unlike anywhere in America.
