CALIFORNIA REINVESTMENT COALITION

SAN FRANCISCO, California, 94102 United States

Mission Statement

The California Reinvestment Coalition builds an inclusive and fair economy that meets the needs of communities of color and low-income communities by ensuring that banks and other corporations invest and conduct business in our communities in a just and equitable manner.

About This Cause

Since our inception more than 30 years ago, the California Reinvestment Coalition has worked to increase access to capital, housing, and wealth-building resources for low-income families and communities of color. We envision a future in which Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) families live and participate fully and equally in financially healthy and stable communities. Our coalition of more than 300 community-serving organizations work with tens of thousands of low-income families and small business owners throughout the state. CRC members include CDFIs, CDCs, small business lenders/technical assistance providers, affordable housing developers, housing counselors, tenant/legal service providers, multi-service agencies and others working in economic development. In partnership with our members, CRC has negotiated Community Benefits Agreements that have directed more than $50 billion in lending and investments to low- and moderate-income communities over the past five years. Our Economic Health Promotoras have provided direct financial capability education and resources to hundreds of low-income BIPOC families and small business owners. We have led advocacy efforts and community power building to support public policies and rules that address white supremacy and systemic racism in our economic system to increase fair access to credit, capital and safe, affordable financial resources.
