Mission Statement
The California School-Based Health Alliance (CSHA) aims to improve the health and academic success of children and youth by advancing health services in schools.
About This Cause
The California School-Based Health Alliance was founded in 1995 to advance school-based health and promote collaboration between the state's emerging network of school-based health centers (SBHCs). SBHCs are clinics that deliver medical, mental health, and prevention services directly on school campuses. Since then, this innovative model has become more established in communities across California. CSHA has grown to include ten staff people, six strong regional affiliates, hundreds of dues-paying members, the largest school health conference in the state, and a distribution list of over 8,500 school health stakeholders. We have an established policy presence in Sacramento and are frequently turned to as experienced experts on starting and running effective school-based health centers.
