Mission Statement
IRDF is a U.S. based tax-exempt organization under the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) code, Section 501 (c) (3). Tax Id: 94-3274500. It is organized under the "Public Benefit Corporation Law" for public and charitable purposes. IRDF is a non-partisan, non-religious organization that adheres to the highest standards of professionalism and transparency in all matters.
About This Cause
In 1996 a few Indian Americans living in the United States of America, became the change agents to translate the dream of giving back to the country of their birth. They realized that poverty is the worst malady and that the remedy was education, healthcare and social development. They set out to refine, define and foster a prosperous rural India, along with the financial support of many Indian's and others in the US. All members of India Rural Development Fund work on a voluntary basis with no compensation of any kind. Administrative expenses are less than two per cent of all funds raised. Our communications with India and project monitoring is done through individual visits, telephone calls, project status reports, and e-mail.
