Mission Statement

Equip students confronting systemic barriers to earn a bachelor’s degree in pursuit of a life of opportunity, choice, and power.

About This Cause

Since 1997, College Track has believed in the power of young people to capitalize on their potential. We firmly believe that a bachelor’s degree remains the best predictor of professional mobility, civic engagement, lifelong wellness, and self-agency. By equipping students from low-income communities to become the first in their family to graduate from college, we fulfill the promise of higher education for generations to come. Our work is rooted in educational equity and racial justice, setting the stage for our students to thrive in careers where people of color have been historically underrepresented. Today, we serve more than 3,000 high school and college students, as well as 765 alumni. These young people are leading a nationwide movement to democratize potential, and give voice to the talent that will lead our country forward. College Track creates opportunities for success at every crucial step of high school and college. We focus on three pillars of support that immerse students in the academic, social, and financial expectations of college. ACADEMIC AFFAIRS: - Academic tutoring and workshops to build key study habits - ACT test preparation - Academic coaching to improve grades and ensure college eligibility - Summer programs for math acceleration and credit recovery STUDENT LIFE: - Service learning based on a student's passion or interest - Meaningful summer experience and reflection - Dream declaration to develop sense of purpose - Showcase of students' projects and experiences COLLEGE & CAREER SUCCESS - College application/personal statement coaching - College exposure events and campus tours - 1:1 advising in college, including internship support and professional development - Scholarship access and financial aid guidance to maintain eligibility each year OUR 10 YEAR COMMITMENT: From the summer before ninth grade through college graduation, our 10-year program systematically removes the barriers facing low-income and first generation students as they pursue a college degree. As a result, our college graduation rate is more than double the national average*, illustrating the efficacy of our long-term commitment to student success. College Track alumni leave their campuses not just as college graduates, but as the new standard for their friends, families, and communities. With the combined efforts of students, families and local partners committed to college success, we are determined to make college graduation a reality for all of our students.
