Mission Statement
WHO WE ARE: The Daughters of Zion (DOZ) Enterpryz’ is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to preparing disadvantaged individuals to overcome physical social, professional and financial barriers. Our vision is SUCCESSFUL LEADERS OF TOMORROW… Our mission is to help youth and adults to survive in today's life and prepare them to succeed in the future. We accomplish this mission by offering resources and innovative leadership programs that prepare youth to succeed academically and professionally. This unique and holistic approach-Personal-to-Professional development empowers youth to take personal ownership to live their best life, promotes family involvement, strengthens the family unit and builds healthy communities.
About This Cause
Our leading edge programs include events that work concurrently to strategically offer weekly, monthly and quarterly learning events that inspire youth to become leaders by first ensuring that basic necessities are met. We offer four key programs that have proven successful in building self-esteem that deters gang violence, improves academic performance, strengthens families and improve communities: 1) Weekly Food and Clothes closet We provide needy families with nutritious food items as the catalyst to reduces stress, strengthens resolve and ability to succeed in school, work and social environments(e.g. reduced crime, improved neighborhood, and stronger communities) 2) Monthly Recycle Family Reading Program involving the entire family to promote literacy in ages 0-5 and beyond to ensure college readiness by mastering necessary elementary school reading skills 3) Monthly High School Mentoring Program providing STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) projects that enable youth to be academically successful educationally and professionally 4) Quarterly Leadership Development Career/Future program building leadership skills in youth by embracing their talents as a way to build self-esteem, develop character and instill responsibility as a means to empower them to make right academic and professional choices toward success Our four-tiered learning model has resulted in improved social skills, improved behavior, higher grades and test scores, enrollment in higher-level academic programs, regular school attendance, and higher graduation rates leading to post-secondary education and/or finding gainful employment Building Leaders one-step at a time –real interventions lasting change
