OPENHOUSE

SAN FRANCISCO, California, 94102 United States

Mission Statement

Openhouse provides housing assistance, information & referral, case management, health & wellness, and community building programs and activities for San Francisco's 20,000 LGBTQ+ seniors.

About This Cause

Since 1998, Openhouse has been envisioning and crafting a better present and future for LGBTQ+ seniors. Openhouse enables San Francisco Bay Area LGBT seniors to overcome the unique challenges they face as they age by providing housing, direct services and community programs. As a result, we have reduced isolation and empowered LGBT seniors to improve their overall health, well-being and economic security. We recognize and affirm that LGBTQ+ older adults live at intersections of race, ethnicity, class, culture, HIV status, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity and expression, spirituality and ability. We are committed to creating a safe environment to encourage and support participants to share our diverse perspectives and identities to foster dynamic community engagement. At Openhouse, everyone is a community member.
