About This Cause
Loved Twice helps disadvantaged families welcome their new babies with less of the burden caused by poverty and more of the joy that comes with bringing a new life into the world. Loved Twice’s “wardrobe-in-a-box” contains a year’s worth of gender-appropriate, gently used baby clothing and other baby essentials. Loved Twice is meeting the need of low-income families to keep their babies safe, clean, and warm with appropriate clothing. While other basic needs, such as food, housing, and medicine can be met by other forms of aid, Loved Twice is the only such provider of baby clothing. Loved Twice serves at-risk babies of mothers experiencing extreme challenges, including homelessness, poverty, violence, and teen pregnancy. Loved Twice ensures that these infants receive proper clothing for their entire first year of life and helps reduce the new parents’ stress, which allows them to better care for their baby in the long-term. Loved Twice reaches families in need by partnering with social workers at over 150 hospitals, clinics, homeless shelters, and safe homes.Our partners have consistently reported that receiving the wardrobes-in-a-box reduces their clients’ anxiety, lessens financial pressures, and allows them to focus more on their baby and their future. The average mother receiving a Loved Twice box has a household income of less than $16,000. All of Loved Twice’s clients live below 200% of the national poverty level.
