Mission Statement
West Bay Opera’s mission is to enrich and inspire the Peninsula communities through professional live opera performances and through all production, education, training and awareness-raising activities associated with those performances.
About This Cause
The second oldest opera company (66 years!) in continuous operation in the West after the San Francisco Opera, West Bay Opera boasts a legendary volunteer culture, where locals work side-by-side with the pros in a supportive and fun yet task-oriented atmosphere, putting on excellent productions with sets, costumes, orchestra and chorus; using technology, but staying true to this wonderful performing art style. From painting sets, to projecting English super-titles, to catering house concerts, there's no dearth of meaningful volunteer opportunities.
