Mission Statement
The Greene PTA (previously Jordan PTA) works closely with the Principal, Teachers and Site Council to determine Jordan’s needs and the appropriate source for funding each need, and fundraises to provide the needed funds.
About This Cause
The Greene PTA (previously Jordan PTA) works closely with the Principal, Teachers and Site Council to determine Jordan’s needs and the appropriate source for funding each need. Specifically, the Greene PTA funds: Arts & Enrichment: The PTA brings artists and authors to campus and supports our music, drama, Science Expo, Library, Home Economics, Social Studies and PE programs to engage students in a deeper learning experience. Facilities & Technology: The PTA continues to be one of the sources necessary to upgrade our aging and outdated classroom, computer and JTV equipment. Student & Family Support: The PTA assists with student orientation and school climate programs, important adolescent counseling services, the Youth Community Service Program, the successful after school Homework Center, student and academic achievement recognition programs, and student scholarships and support where needed. We support parent education programs and many events that bring our school community together. Teaching Support: The PTA puts resources in the hands of teachers through grants for curriculum enrichment and innovation and by supporting staff development projects to insure state-of-the-art practices in critical core subjects and a strong working team. We help provide much needed classroom teaching supplies and well-deserved teacher and staff appreciation events for our dedicated school leaders. Greene PTA is part of the National PTA is the oldest and largest volunteer association working exclusively on behalf of all children and youth. For more than 100 years, the National PTA has promoted the education, health, and safety of children, youth, and families.which membership provides parents with the forum and tools to collectively influence the decisions that affect children not only at their schools, but also throughout their districts, within their state, and across the nation.
