About This Cause
For more than 100 years, Eisner Health has been a trusted medical home, today serving more than 40,000 low-income and uninsured Angelenos each year. We are proud to be the first point of access to primary care, behavioral health, dental care, prenatal care, and speciality preventative health services, for children, families, and seniors most in need in our community. The overwhelming majority of Eisner Health’s patients are low-income or indigent, with 97% living at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Eisner Health’s patients live in vibrant, densely populated urban neighborhoods spread across 200 zip codes. They reflect Los Angeles County’s rich racial and ethnic diversity and heritages; many are immigrants and first-generation Americans. They also face numerous challenges, with the majority living in communities federally designated as Medically Underserved Areas, and in areas with disproportionately high rates of violence and chronic diseases, relative to other areas of L.A. County. Overall, our patients face a variety of economic, environmental, social, and health-related challenges, and we are their trusted partner to help them access and ensure their right to their health and wellbeing and help them navigate an increasingly complicated health care landscape.
