About This Cause
MAF serves more than 600 Christian and humanitarian organizations through: • Aviation- A fleet of 51 aircraft flying 1.7 million miles each year in the most remote regions of the world • Training- Aviation training, technology training, security training, and other instruction to facilitate the spread of the Gospel • Technology Solutions- Tools and services that enable communication and evangelism in remote areas, including VSAT broadband Internet access, HF/VHF radios, IT solutions, and mobile technologies The types of programs MAF enables include: o Evangelism & Church Nurture Transporting missionaries, evangelists, and indigenous church workers to isolated villages. Supporting scripture translation and distribution projects “JESUS” film presentations o Medical Assistance Medical emergency evacuations Medicines delivered safely Flying doctor services and other medical staff support o Indigenous Training Technology and skills training Aviation Training o Community Development Transport of staff and supplies for health and community improvement projects Development or support of village enhancements, including water wells and communication systems o Disaster Response Transport of relief supplies and agency personnel to disaster areas Delivery of food for the hungry Emergency communications and logistics expertise The impact of MAF services in 2017 included the following: o 1,732,096 total nautical miles flown o 7,778,520 pounds of cargo delivered o 73,708 passangers transported Every flight hour saves on average 5 days of travel by foot or slow, arduous ground transportation. An MAF airplane is often the only safe and reliable means of transportation for ministry activities.
