About This Cause
Founded in 1961, Camp de Benneville Pines is an independent 501c3 nonprofit that fosters spiritual and personal growth, environmental stewardship, leadership development, and social justice and action. Through more than 60 retreats each year, Camp invites Unitarian Universalists and kindred spirits to connect in nature, igniting creativity and building capacity to influence positive change in the world. Camp is committed to strengthening UU values and expression and is a Covenanting Community of the Unitarian Universalist Association. Unitarian Universalism is a religion that is not defined by creed or dogma. It is guided by principles that affirm the worth and dignity of every person and encourage an individual search for truth and meaning. Unitarian Universalists honor the wonder of existence and affirm that we are all connected, to each other and to the interdependent web of life. By definition, our communities are intentionally inclusive of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. They are made up of people who believe in God, people who don’t, and people who are content to live with the mystery. Less important than your beliefs or faith tradition is a vision and commitment to build a community where together, in our diversity, we may covenant to bring more love and justice into the world.
