I Love A Clean San Diego leads and inspires our community to actively conserve and enhance the environment through example, outreach, and local involvement.
About This Cause
Founded in 1954, I Love A Clean San Diego is San Diego County's most influential advocate for sustainability, connecting more than 90,000 youth and adults to the local environment each year through classroom and community-based environmental education programs, community volunteer activities, and recycling and waste reduction resources. First formed as the San Diego War Against Litter Committee, I Love A Clean San Diego has provided environmental education and awareness in San Diego County since 1954. "I Love A Clean San Diego" began as the slogan for the organization's anti-litter campaign in the 1970's, and was adopted as the organization's name in 1980. In 1989, I Love A Clean San Diego merged with the San Diego Ecology Center, joining two leading environmental organizations together to better serve the community under one name.
