Our mission is to provide social services and programs that promote community, respect, and self-determination for all.
About This Cause
All Peoples is a vibrant hub of activity for children, youth, and families six days a week, year-round. Services for children and youth include licensed childcare, after-school services, tutoring, arts, computer lab, summer camp, summer jobs, workshops to support transitions to middle & high school, a college corner (student and parent college tours and workshops, academic college preparation, financial aid, college admissions support). Services for parents and other adults include English classes, citizenship classes, immigration legal services (in partnership with nonprofit partner CARECEN), employment services, multi-benefit screening & enrollment, financial literacy and education, parenting classes, domestic violence support group, health education workshops, supervised parental visitations, counseling, & mothers support groups, food distribution, and free tax preparation. For seniors, All Peoples also offers a federally-funded Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), placing senior volunteers in community-based organizations throughout South LA. All Peoples Community Center will celebrate its 81st anniversary in 2023, after providing “real solutions, real heart, and real service” to South Los Angeles since 1942. All Peoples serves as a true safe haven, and a beloved and trusted place for low-income children, youth, and families. All Peoples provides myriad social and educational services to more than 6,600 people per year in its 20,000-square-foot center located in a residential area of South LA’s Vernon-Central neighborhood, immediately south of downtown Los Angeles. Services are designed to achieve the following goals: to help children succeed at each stage of development; to strengthen and support individuals and families and build community; to prevent violence and crime in the community and the home; to provide job training and create job opportunities, and to help seniors stay active and engaged.
