Mission Statement
The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association. The Foundation gives back to the greater Pasadena area community non-profits through its annual grants program. The grants program serves an 11-city service area across 3 different funding categories. The service area and categories allow the Foundation to contribute to the civic, cultural and educational advancement of its local communities by funding new and on-going projects to benefit children, teens, adults and seniors. To date, the Tournament of Roses Foundation has given over $3 million to more than 200 organizations.
About This Cause
Mission Statement The Pasadena Tournament of Roses® Foundation is a tax exempt, non-profit public benefit corporation established in 1983 to receive and manage contributions from the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association, its supporters, and the general public. The Foundation supports charities in the Pasadena area by funding sports and recreation, visual and performing arts, and volunteer motivation and leadership development. Tax Statement The Internal Revenue Service has determined that the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation is exempt from Federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and that it is not a private foundation within the meaning of section 509(a) of the code. Contributions to the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation may be deducted by donors as provided in section 170 of the Code. Bequests, legacies, devises, transfers, or gifts to the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation are deductible for Federal estate and gift tax purposes. Administration The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation is administered by a thirteen member Board of Directors appointed by the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association. The Board of Directors is comprised of members of the community and Tournament members, including members of the Association’s Executive Committee. The Board is responsible for receiving gifts and managing the assets of the Foundation, screening and approving grant requests, and disbursing funds to qualifying organizations.
