BURBANK, California, 91502-1635 United States

Mission Statement

The Volunteers of Burbank Animal Shelter (VBAS), a non-profit 501(c) 3 agency, provides medical, social, behavioral and financial care for animals at risk and is determined to eliminate animal homelessness in the Burbank Community. The VBAS functions as an auxiliary unit of the Burbank Animal Shelter, a division of the Burbank Police Department, which is home to dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles and rodents.

About This Cause

During the calendar year the shelter servers approximately 1,400 dogs and 1,500 cats, which make up the vast majority of our resident population. The VBAS supports shelter staff by providing animal care programs that range from basic care (cleaning cages, socialization and grooming) to adoption services and community outreach and education. Currently, 140 volunteers staff the agency and dedicate themselves to fulfilling the agency’s mission on a daily basis.
