Mission Statement
The My Stuff Bags Foundation, with the help of thousands of people across the country, provides children who have been rescued from abuse, neglect, homelessness and domestic violence with new belongings and new hope through its innovative “My Stuff Bags” program.
About This Cause
The My Stuff Bags Foundation provides new belongings, comfort and hope to thousands of children each year who must be rescued from abuse, neglect, abandonment, and homelessness across the United States. We give children who have been separated from their families, homes, and belongings, something to do and something to hold on to at a desperate time in their lives. Each individual My Stuff Bag is filled with necessities such as toiletries, clothing and school supplies and comforts, such as stuffed animals, toys and a handmade blanket. Every item inside is brand new and offers reassurance to the children that they are worthy of love, which helps to restore their self-esteem. By rallying widespread individual and corporate involvement through our unique “My Stuff Bags” program, we address the immediate physical and emotional needs of rescued children, and help support the agencies caring for them. Because of the Covid-19 crisis, the lives of the children we serve and the agency workers caring for them will inevitably become harder! Unfortunately, during times of high stress, cases of domestic violence increase, meaning more children suffer as a result. In this unique situation, many cases are also going unreported, meaning that the number of reports will likely increase in the aftermath of the pandemic.
