Mission Statement
Catalyst California (formerly Advancement Project California) advocates for racial justice by building power and transforming public systems. We partner with communities of color, conduct innovative research, develop policies for actionable change, and shift money and power back into our communities.
About This Cause
Catalyst California (formerly Advancement Project California) transforms public systems to create a more racially and economically equitable California. Through rigorous research analysis, progressive budget and policy advocacy, and community power building, we work alongside community partners to develop policies and practices that prioritize the needs of low-income people of color. Primary program areas include: • Expanding educational opportunities and ensuring appropriate school facilities for low-income and disadvantaged children • Equipping communities of color with the budget and advocacy tools they need to win sustainable public investments • Ensuring community members are able to participate in the process of effective policymaking, and governments respond equitably to community concerns.
