Mission Statement
Dedicated to the welfare of CHP employees and their families. Providing scholarships and benefits to those families in need.
About This Cause
Founded in 1982, the CHP 11-99 Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit devoted to the welfare of California Highway Patrol employees and their families. To date, the 11-99 Foundation has provided over $50 million in financial assistance to CHP employees and their families, including $45 million in vocational and academic scholarships to dependents of CHP personnel. Our emergency and death benefits program exists to provide a financial cushion for families facing medical emergencies, prolonged illness, natural disasters, or death. When a CHP Officer is killed in the line of duty, $50,000 is immediately provided to the spouse and family of the Fallen Officer. Additionally, any/all children of the Fallen Officer will be provided full scholarship funding through our Fallen Hero Scholarship Fund once they graduate high school. Each year since 1984, over 1,000 dependents of CHP employees apply and are awarded vocational and academic scholarships through our general scholarship program and Advanced Study Sullivan Award. Scholarship awards range from $1,500 - $30,000 depending on the academic achievement and the financial need of the recipient. Every July, the 11-99 Foundation holds ceremonies across the state in each CHP division, awarding scholarships to children and their families. The important work of the 11-99 Foundation would not be possible without the generosity of thousands of individual donors, corporations, and grants. You can support the 11-99 Foundation today by joining our membership, making a one-time donation, monthly donation, or stock transfer. To learn more, please visit www.chp11-99.org.
