Mission Statement

Happy Doggo is a global non-profit on a mission to fix the street dog problem worldwide. Our primary focus is on CNVR (Capture, Neuter, Vaccinate and Release), as we believe that by targeting the root cause of the issue, we can create a sustainable and healthier environment for both dogs and communities.

About This Cause

Despite increasing investment in population management over the last 10 years, street dog populations continue to thrive across Southeast Asia. To address this issue effectively we need to enable a more focused, data-driven, and collective effort across government, industry, and the non-profit sector. Unlike many animal rescue organizations, Happy Doggo focuses on sterilization as the number one priority while medical treatment, shelter, and adoption are intentionally limited in numbers. To accelerate our global impact, we partner with existing organizations on the ground to ramp up their sterilization programs. We started off sterilizing on Koh Samui but over the last year, that has spread across Thailand and Southeast Asia. By funding incredible organizations in Thailand and beyond, we plan to sterilize approximately 50,000 dogs this year. Every day, our team feeds over 800 street dogs across the island of Koh Samui. It’s how Happy Doggo got started – with Niall Harbison feeding the street dogs on his bike and realizing there was much more he could do – and it’s something we're committed to continuing. There are thousands of dogs on Koh Samui alone, many with medical conditions ranging from skin conditions to broken bones. Our sanctuary is where we bring the sickest dogs, giving them specialized care according to their needs and caring for them until they are healthy enough to go home.
