Mission Statement
Beulah's Legacy: Empowerment for Every Stage Beulah's Legacy: Empowerment for Every Stage, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Houston, TX, and dedicated to providing essential resources and services to individuals and families across all stages of life, was established by the seven remaining children of Beulah Kimble-Hall to honor their mother’s lifelong commitment to kindness, care, presence, and empowerment. Beulah was a single mother of eight. This nonprofit is founded on the belief that empowerment is essential at every stage of life, the organization is dedicated to delivering transformative services to individuals and communities. Its vision is to perpetuate Beulah Kimble-Hall’s legacy through programs that support education, safe and affordable housing, health, and community well-being, ensuring that compassionate service remains at the forefront of community empowerment. The organization aims to empower individuals from kindergarten to college to adulthood and retirement by offering assistance, guidance, and opportunities for personal and professional growth and self-sufficiency. We believe in collaborative partnerships, because we can go further, and we can do more together than we can do alone. Therefore, together with other charities, corporations, and non-profits, Beulah's Legacy: Empowerment for Every Stage draws on a wealth of experiences from the founders' lived experiences and from sectors such as higher education, the military, telecommunications, technology, social responsibility (mental health awareness) engineering, procurement, oil and gas, retail, workforce development and training, skills and trades, transportation, the medical field and other areas. This skills-rich organization network not only delivers essential services but also strengthens community ties through direct, impactful programs. Mission, Volunteer Impact, and Community Empowerment Beulah's Legacy is driven by a clear mission: to honor a legacy of compassion by empowering individuals through direct community engagement and service. Our mission is simple, to uplift individuals and families facing challenges at various stages of life. Not long ago we received a phone call from a woman in her 50's. She was evicted from her apartment, but did locate another apartment. However, she had used her paycheck as a down payment for the new apartment and was going to late at her new location. We personally helped and knew that she would be alright after 30 days. So sometimes individuals just need a 30-day window to get back on track.
About This Cause
Beulah's Legacy: Empowerment for Every Stage is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential resources and services to individuals and families across all stages of life. Established to honor Beulah Kimble-Hall, a single mother of eight, the organization established by her children, focuses on helping families when and where they need it most. Funds raised directly benefits initiatives to help youth, families thus helping communities grow. Our mother Beulah, affectionately known throughout the community in which we grew up as "Mama Beulah, was a beacon of compassion and support in her small community in Louisiana (Opelousas). She opened her home or identified shelters for those in need, offering temporary shelter, meals, sometimes clothing and identifying crucial assistance in referring those in need to healthcare, housing resources, meals and rental assistance. Her life was a testament to the power of community spirit and selflessness. That is what we saw as kids and that is what we intend to give back. We currently support food distribution efforts in the city of Houston, providing food for well over 200 families weekly by distributing "redistributed food items" from Chick-Fil-A, Cheddar's, Auntie Annie's Pretzels, Whole Foods Market and McDonald's. And even though we're a relatively new nonprofit, our experiences are a lot older and rooted in the lived experiences of our family, the significant impact our mother had on her community, and our volunteerism and philanthropy. Of the eight siblings, one brother, a military veteran of the U.S. Navy and the eldest of us all, passed away; five of us have now retired and can dedicate 100 percent of our time to the nonprofit. Two remain fully employ with plans to join us in two years. However, they do work parttime with us in the organization. Another example of what we do to help strengthen the community and bring hope to everyone in need is - not long ago a young lady reached out, totally embarrassed to ask about the food we distribute. She had been laid off for two months but had recently landed a parttime job. Since it would be two weeks before she would receive her first paycheck, she was caught between deciding to spend what monies she had left on gas for her car and food. She was referred to us and we were able to provide enough nutritious foods and snacks for the two kids, to get her through until her payday. Sometimes, it's just the small request for help that can be the difference between someone surviving and thriving.
