About This Cause
Holy Spirit Lutheran Church--MINISTRY IN THE WORLD SUPPORT--HSLC is an open and inclusive faith community with a strong commitment to social concerns. Funds donated to this program support local, national and global organizations that are meeting human needs. Programs are open to all regardless of religious practice. Supported organizations provide housing assistance to prevent homelessness, land ownership for rural farmers in Central America, disaster relief, community meals for low-income people, respite for care-givers and legal assistance/advocacy for those on the margins of society. Holy Spirit Lutheran Church-EASTSIDE ENCAMPMENTS SUPPORT-Contributions to this program support the needs of homeless encampments in Eastside King County. Funds purchase bus tickets, provide sanitary facilities, laundry for bedding, camp supplies and utility costs. Eastside encampments shelter between 300-400 homeless adults each year. Holy Spirit Lutheran Church-CHILDREN & FAMILY OUTREACH-Is dedicated to the spiritual growth of youth and families through compassionate, inclusive and challenging education, community service and faith in action. All programs and events are for all people regardless of religious preference. Holy Spirit Lutheran Church-SCOUTING--Donations to Scouting at Holy Spirit support Troop 570, Girl Troop 8570, and Pack 567 and provide young people opportunities for new adventures, leadership skill development, service, and plenty of fun. Donations help keep fees for participating low and support activities involving all scouts in each unit. Scouting at Holy Spirit is available for all youth regardless of religious preference or gender identification.
