Mission Statement

The mission of Travis Park Church is to Make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World. We welcome all, affirm all, and advocate for restorative justice for all.

About This Cause

Travis Park Church is a progressive and historic Reconciling United Methodist Congregation, grounded in both history and vision. We are the oldest Protestant congregation in San Antonio. Organized as a church in 1846, we began worshipping at this site 20 years later at the heart of downtown. We are a church that embraces the value of stories: in them we can find truth, meaning, hope and connection with God and with one another. Travis Park Church is affiliated with the Reconciling Ministries Network, a group of congregations and groups worldwide which have adopted statements welcoming people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Cafe Corazon was born in the Fellowship Hall of Travis Park Church, where a group of young disciples had the radical idea of feeding people EVERY Sunday morning. The first group served breakfast on Sunday, March 28, 1999 (Palm Sunday). The ministry of Corazon San Antonio continues strong.
