About This Cause

Anshe Sholom has many Social Action and Community programs. The Social Action are organizes volunteer events and mobilizes our community to answer the call declared every day in the Alenu "to perfect the world under the kingdom of G-d" Together we work to fight social injustice and do our part to bring about Tikun Olam, a perfect world. Our volunteer opportunities included volunteering at the JUF Café, the Ronald McDonald House on Christmas Eve, bringing children to the Lieberman Home to sing songs, organizing CPR class and supporting area homeless shelters and food pantries. ASBI is also an active member of the Lakeview Action Coalition, a non-profit, multi-issue community organization (www.lakeviewaction.org). “It is to share your bread with the hungry and to take the poor into your home; when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to ignore your own kin. Then shall your light burst through like the dawn…” (Isaiah 58:7-8)
