Mission Statement

Seattle Mennonite Church operates God's Li'l Acre (GLA), a drop-in center for homeless adults in the Lake City Neighborhood of Seattle. Folks can come in off the streets to spend time inside, get a cup of coffee, cook for themselves or together with others, do laundry, take a shower and securely store personal possessions.

God’s Li’l Acre (GLA) Drop-In Center Summary of Services: Open Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm Two paid staff are on site every day; volunteer hosts are also on site to enhance the relational depth of the community. Core Services Available to All Members: 28 showers per day, 8 loads of laundry per day Personal Storage (24 lockers) Community Kitchen - People cooking for themselves Mailing Address Support Services on Site: Mental Health Intake and Peer Counselling - 4 mornings per week, Valley Cities Mental Health Veterans Administration Outreach - 1st Wednesday of the month Nursing Student Placement - Seattle University School of Nursing - 1 morning per week Program costs for staff, supplies and rent are funded by Seattle Mennonite Church and Lake City Partners, supplemented by grant funding from the City of Seattle. No fees are charged for any services received by community members. In 2019, 533 unduplicated individuals accessed services at GLA at least one time in the calendar year. Within this population, 38 households moved into permanent housing.
