Mission Statement
Support the bright and deserving students of DMHS! A magnet school located in Downtown Los Angeles dedicated to providing educational opportunities for underrepresented minorities, most of whom are first-generation students hailing from low-income backgrounds. These talented individuals are working hard to break barriers and achieve their dreams, but they need our help. By contributing to the DMHS Senior Scholarship Fund, you can make a significant impact on these students' futures. Your support will provide financial assistance for their higher education, ensuring that they have access to the resources and opportunities necessary to succeed. About This Cause
Downtown Magnets College Center is an important part of Downtown Magnets High School. We give workshops on college applications, financial aid, the college search process, strategies for success in the classroom, parent workshops, field trips to college campuses and college fairs and so much more. The job of the college center is to help all students find college and career success after high school. We help students by raising funds for scholarships that help "close the gap" on college funding. Every year the college center holds its annual 5k Fun Run so that year's seniors can be awarded these scholarships. We also hold teacher lunches, candy sales, and other small fundraisers to allow us to give more. We are hoping to find sponsors and funding to allow us to build a small endowment for the future.
