Mission Statement
Serra is an exceptional college preparatory high school for boys. In the classroom, on the athletic field, within our clubs and organizations, on the stage or in the community, we teach boys to become responsible, resilient young men and honorable leaders—as we prepare our Padres to successfully navigate the complex world that they will inherit. Commitment to an Inclusive Brotherhood Serra's mission is reflected in the curriculum, in the teaching pedagogy, in student programs and activities, in hiring decisions, and in the policies and processes that guide everyday life at Serra. It underpins student leadership programs such as Big Brothers, in which upper classmen care for and watch over their younger Padre brothers, and Encounter, a Campus Ministry based program that trains and supports students who step into leadership roles at retreats and other student events and for the school at large. It influences texts that are read, topics that are discussed and courses that are taught. We actively look at policies, procedures and practices to support our inclusive brotherhood. Recent examples include changes made to hair and dress codes, financial aid and scholarship awards.

Serra's outstanding academic and extracurricular programs are made possible by the financial support of all those in the Serra community. The Advancement Office is responsible for furthering the mission of the school through careful planning and management of all fundraising initiatives, including annual, capital, endowed and planned gifts, alumni relations, special events and communications. For more than 75 years, Serra has been blessed with outstanding young men, a dedicated faculty and administration, supportive parents, alumni, parents of alumni, foundations and generous friends in the community. Their legacy of giving assures an exceptional Serra education for current and future Padres. Every gift to Serra, regardless of size, contributes to the expansion of our programs and enhances the opportunities available to our students and faculty. There are many ways to give to Serra.
