St. Marys School is committed to academic excellence and to educating the whole child: spiritually, academically, socially, physically, and culturally in PreK through 8th grade. St. Marys School strongly supports and encourages high achievement of all students through standards-based curriculum. School wide Learning Expectations prepare St. Mary's students to leave as Lifelong Learners, Independent Thinkers, Globally Aware Citizens, Helpful and Respectful Individuals and Thoughtful Catholic Leaders. St. Marys School uses curriculum mapping, which ensures that teachers plan and instruct in a way that allows all students to make acceptable progress. In addition to the core subjects of math, English, history, and science, every grade takes classes in Spanish, art appreciation, and physical education. Differentiated instruction and relevant activities assist in meeting the challenging curriculum standards at each grade level. In addition to the regular curriculum and coursework offered at St. Marys School, students have many opportunities to take part in extra curricular activities which help provide meaningful experiences that aid in the formation of a well-rounded student. These programs such as, Student Council, Drama, Choir, Yearbook, CYO basketball, track, cross country, volleyball and scouting help students identify and develop their strengths, talents and interests. Throughout the school year students and faculty volunteers participate in various community service projects such as canned good food drives for the St. Vincent De Paul Society Food Pantry, visiting local nursing homes and fund raising for various charities. St. Marys Kids Club provides quality care for students before and after school. The program offers homework assistance, outdoor play, arts and crafts and various enrichment programs such as chess and tennis programs. Opportunities for family involvement are offered through participation in a number of activities including Parent's Club, School Advisory Board, classroom participation and CYO sports. St. Marys School is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) and is co-accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
