We are seeking a new Chair who shares our passion for meeting the everyday needs of people who are living in poverty while preventing usable essential goods from being sent to landfill. The position of Chair is a vital role within our organisation. As the Chair, you will provide strategic direction, guidance, and oversight to the board of trustees, ensuring the effective governance and management of the charity. This position requires a strong commitment to our mission, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
We are anticipating a Chair to serve a 3 year term and the commitment is around 16 hours per month to cover reviewing papers, attending meetings and supporting our CEO & Founder, Rosalind Bluestone.
We are also open to exploring a co-Chair model whereby two people share the Chair position with a division of responsibilities to be agreed. We feel that this approach might be both beneficial for the candidates, who will be able to “share the load” and benefit from each other’s expertise and experience, and beneficial for the organisation as we juggle day-to-day governance and planning for the future.

We take excess locally grown produce and dehydrate it in order that nutrient rich meals can be sent around the world to those facing food insecurity or are displaced by war or natural disaster. In 2 hours a group of 20 people can prepare 8000 meals. Volunteers are able to sort, wash, and prepare produce to be put on trays and loaded into the dehydrator. Then the dehydrator is unloaded and dehydrated produce is bagged, labeled, and packed for shipping.

As part of our scale-up roadmap for our operations worldwide and, in particular, Palestine, we aim to implement a new broker that we can control in a fully declarative fashion (config files + APIs) written in crystal-clean code, using best practices and patterns.

● Hands-on Volunteering: An RLC staff member will lead the group through a food rescue event, where employees will help pack up the donated food and deliver it to a local nonprofit partner.
● Immediate Impact: A staff member at our nonprofit partner will talk to your employees about the impact the food donations will have on the community they serve.
