At least 1 in 4 Alameda County neighbors experiences food insecurity today. You can make a difference by helping sort and pack the mountains of fresh fruits and veggies flowing into our warehouse each day. After a morning or afternoon spent with us, you’ll see the impact you have on the lives of thousands of children, adults, and seniors in our community. Our biggest need is for weekday groups of 15-40 volunteers, but individuals age 10+ are welcome. To register for a shift, visit accfb.org/volunteer.

While looking to expand our board of directors, this nonprofit seeks pro bono to diversify the range of skills and expertise that members could bring into our organization. We need help to develop a board recruitment plan that would result in dynamic professionals joining our board.

BPDC is out to bring positive change to our community by providing education and access to health care for vulnerable or underprivileged children, entrepreneurial training for youths, and poor families start small businesses to earn living. When a jobless youth secures employment or a girl child is educated; those are the moments that make the long hours all worth it.
BPDC’s vision is that through our programs and services, there will no longer be any poor youth in Ghana. Our child education program is a key part of making sure that the goal comes to fruition.

Kohls volunteers have supported this event for several years! Volunteers help with set up, provide and/or arrange desserts, serve attendees, and help with clean up. Volunteers enjoy some of the competition too-chili and chicken soup for free!

Opportunity Details

Feed Branford Kids offers a weekend backpack food program for kids in need within the Branford school system. While there is no income minimum or maximum, we serve approximately 175 students every week with 2 breakfasts, 2 entrees, 2 milk, 2 juice, 2 to 4 snacks. At our annual fundraiser, we offer a raffle, silent and live auction. We would like to use volunteers to help with the raffle and auction (ticket sales).

Opportunity Details

We kindly request assistance in organizing and packing donated personal care products to send to impoverished Appalachian families with children in Lee and Wolff counties in Kentucky. We have had a relationship for the last 13+ years of sending food each month to the poorest families with children. Annually, we gather donations to help with their lack of hygiene products. The collected items will be distributed to approximately 100 needy families.

MANNA distributes 50,000 pounds of food everyday to serve the more than 110,000 people in WNC's 16 counties facing food insecurity. This is achieved through the hard work of nearly 100 volunteers in MANNA's warehouse everyday. Volunteer projects change daily in the warehouse based on priority and need. Projects could include, but are not limited to: sorting and packing food donations, packing housewares and hygiene products, culling and bagging produce, or packing MANNA Packs.

Each month, from January through October, the Emmanuel Dining Room hosts a lively gathering of guests who come as much for the easy camaraderie as for the delights inspired by the fare of selected foreign countries. All proceeds help the Emmanuel Dining Room feed those in need every day. Without the support of the community and programs such as this we would not be able to help those that enter our doors every day.
