Goal of the position: Every Tuesday & Thursday, we deliver food to clients who are disabled or otherwise homebound. As the home delivery driver, you will deliver bags of food to those in need. There are 5 major apartment complexes that house the majority of our clients from Downtown Seattle to Rainier Beach.

Requirements:
· Valid driver’s license
· Background check
· Availability Tuesday or Thursdays 9:30am – 1:30 pm
· Highly personable and works well with others
· Minimum 3 month commitment desired

Responsibilities:
· Professionally represent Rainier Valley Food Bank
· Safely deliver bags to 5-20 clients each Thursday (depending on your time & capabilities)
· Check in on client’s welfare, report concerns and changes to home delivery coordinator
· Collect bags from previous week’s delivery and return to food bank


With only three employees, our food bank could not operate without a cadre of committed, long-term community volunteers who contribute over 2,000 hours of service every month.

Skills Needed:
· Punctual, dependable, enthusiastic, flexible and positive attitude
· Outgoing and enjoys working with people and helping clients
· Must be able to work in both calm and fast-paced environments
· Comfortable with diverse populations in high energy settings
· Have a neat appearance and a friendly demeanor
· Multi-lingual is a huge plus!

Opportunity Details

Goal of the position: Assist in processing food as donations come in. Volunteers will
interact with clients, staff and other volunteers and will provide excellent customer
service to ensure great relationships and a positive atmosphere during distributions.

Time Required:
Hours: Tuesday and Friday 12pm – 2:30pm
Length of Commitment: Minimum 3 hour shift preferred
Position Availability: Weekly

Description:
Volunteers will report to the Warehouse Manager to help maintain organization of our warehouse. You will help move, sort, and organize deliveries and stock food on shelves to prepare for future food distributions.
Any variety of tasks may be assigned:
· Unloading/organizing deliveries
· Stocking shelves for distribution
· Sweeping up trash, recycling, ensuring compost is taken out correctly
· Measuring out portions of food
· Filling and stacking crates
· Thanking food donors and logging donations
· Re-organizing /cleaning the coolers and storage

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

to use for various social media outlets.

Description:
Volunteer will work with the Marketing Committee & staff to take pictures that portrays RVFB’s mission & operations. Volunteer has own equipment and will take photographs and edit them.

Qualifications:
Any combination of experience with: design, paid media, earned media, event planning, donor relations or social media.
High level of dependability and follow through

Time Required:
Hours: Approx. 2-5 hours a week on start-up projects

Over 3,800 people are being assisted through our Food Bank, Soup Kitchen and Shelter every month, 30% of those we assist are children under the age of 18 years. Each of these needy families would have gone hungry without the generous support and kindness of our community.

Responsibilities: Prepare lunch meal, cleaning, dishwashing, client services

The Salvation Army Ridge Meadows serves one community meal every day to the public, 365 days per year. Lunch is served on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 12:00pm - 1:00pm. Supper is served on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00pm - 6:00pm. Doors open 30 minutes prior to meal time. Every meal is prepared in our kitchen by professional staff and follows nutritional guidelines. 93% of the people who attend our Community Meal Program are residents of Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows.
