For our Hot Meals program, volunteers will be assisting Chefs Ed and Tyler in the kitchen by packaging nutritious, hot meals in boxes to-go. Other volunteers may pack cold lunches. Both hot meals and cold lunches are distributed to anyone who is hungry, and volunteers help see this effort through.Volunteers are all required to sanitize, and wear masks and gloves, which we can provide if necessary. We have a hand-sanitizing station in the Pantry, and ask that you be able to stand for 3.5 hours.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for NY Common Pantry's Bronx Choice Pantry Program! Our mission would be fruitless without the help of thoughtful volunteers like you.Volunteers at our Choice Pantries (located in Manhattan and the Bronx) help package and distribute free packages of groceries to low income families and individuals. Specific tasks include sorting and packing produce, assembling and distributing each pantry package, and other activities as needed.
Volunteers for this project must be at least 18 plus, be able to stand for 3.5 hours and be able to consistently handle 30lb packages of groceries. Please wear closed toed shoes (such as sneakers) and comfortable clothing that can get dirty.
We operate on two shifts a day; morning (9:00am - 12:30pm) and afternoon (12:30pm-4:00pm) Tuesday through Saturday. Please indicate which shift you or your team would like to volunteer for, by emailing Volunteer Manager, Erin Williams at volunteer@nycommonpantry.org.

We are looking for volunteers to help deliver food to the seniors and disabled persons in our community. Our food bank serves over 600 households each week. Each delivery will have no contact with the person you deliver to. Help us make a difference in the lives of those in our community.As a Volunteer Driver:
Flexible Schedule – Tuesday through Saturday.
Start Date: ASAP
Have an assigned route provided at the beginning of your shift each day of volunteering.
Pick up assembled boxes from the Food Bank and delivery to clients on your route.
Have enough room in your vehicle for a minimum of 10 small boxes.
Be able to carry heavy objects and walk upstairs to deliver groceries to clients in their homes.
