In January of 2021, we will be launching our Saturday food pantry. During food pantry we distribute boxes and bags of non-perishables, produce, meat and dairy to our neighbors. In addition to our normal food pantry days, Saturday pantry will take place every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 9AM to noon. In addition to packing bags and boxes of food, volunteers may be asked to restock the shelves, repack items into smaller quantities, and to help keep the pantry clean.Spanish speaking volunteers may be asked to help assist with translation.
In response to COVID-19, we have changed our regulations:
Only volunteers and staff are allowed into the building
All staff and volunteers working the food pantry must wear a mask and gloves at all times
Neighbors are encouraged to stand six feet apart and will be given masks if they do not have one
If interested in this opportunity, please email Azaria Brown at azaria.brown@westmin.org

At 26 Letters we offer medical funds and humanitarian aid packages but we are still a young NGO and our resources are quite limited. To guarantee the well-being of all families, collaborations with other NGOs and associations are essential. The well-being department, or the “caring grandparents” as we call them, guarantees that our families are assisted in every possible way through our own programs or through referrals. When we are contacted by a family that either needs assistance in an area out of our scope or that lives outside Beirut, our caring granparents ensure that they are referred to another organization that can provide such help. While our team in Beirut works on purchasing, assembling and distributing our survival packages in Beirut, our online-based volunteers work on searching for alternative and collaborative ways to help.
Our caring grandparents protect our families and provide them with the love and care that they deserve.
